Origami

Post titles-I'm really terrible at coming up with them. Maybe one day I will be better at them. But for now, there just plain and boring.

Lately I've been caught up in quick projects. I've been making makeup bags like crazy. I was always afraid to work with zippers, but I decided to jump in with both feet, and i came out victorious and now zippers are no match for me! Ha, I made these makeup bags for my sister-in-law for Christmas, I found this super cute fabric and a little sewing shop in town and used Amy Butlers Origami Bag pattern. The end result-cute makeup bags!

Now, I kinda want to go make a million more for all sorts of little things around the house!

Swooning

I've been refraining from posting these photos for a while now, but now both my Sister and my Mother-in-Law have been gifted the quilts!

Both quilts were so much fun to make and were very 'them'. My sister came out during the spring of last year and went to the LQS, with me and we had so much fun picking out her fabrics. I think we were there for at least 2 hours, but it was some great bonding time.

I used the Swoon pattern it was super easy to follow and super fun to make, I can't wait to make one for myself. If I ever find the time.

 Marys Swoon Quilt-Using Batik fabrics

My Mother-in-Law and Father-in-Law were in town during the summer and we also took a trip to the LQS, in search of the perfect fabrics for her Swoon quilt. She chose a Red, White and Blue theme-this quilt was again, so much fun to make.

The fabrics are way out of my comfort zone and it was a good challenge pairing fabrics. I'm pleased to say she LOVES the quilt, we were both a little skeptical when we were choosing the fabrics, sometimes it's hard to imagine the fabrics together when they are on the bold.

Mom's Swoon Quilt

One day I will have my own swoon quilt, but for now I will just keep making them for my family (there is now a waiting list!)
