A little planning

Currently I am sitting in the cutest coffee house in Pagosa Springs, CO. Having a blast. The boys are on the mountain enjoying the fresh powder and I'm planning a new quilt out.

I've picked out a pattern and some fabric I love, and today while enjoying my latte I started to plan placements. Mind you, this is a new thing for me. Usually I pick the fabric, then find the pattern. But, for the first time I picked the pattern and then the fabric. I'm so proud of myself and I found about 1/2 of it in my stash! Whoo, yay for cutting into what I currently own!

Sadly, I don't have the fabric near me so my sketches will have to do :) please be kind- these are from my iPhone and may not be the best quality.

Color scheme and layout. The pattern is On a Whim by Camille Roskelley. Enjoy

It's finally home!

I finished piecing my 'big city quilt' at the end of December, and sent it off to the Long Arm soon after. I try to quilt all my quilts by myself, but this one was a little bigger than I thought I could handle. It is a over-sized queen, and my little machine couldn't handle it. So off to the mountains it went.

Please don't mind the gutters ;)

I got it back at the end of last week, and wasted no time binding it, and washing and drying it. All in one afternoon. I couldn't wait to get all that crinkly goodness on my bed to snuggle under. I know it's a bit more springy, but we've been in the 60's for the last weekish-so to me it's spring! Until it hits 20 degrees at night, we are in the desert after all.

I'm so happy with the results, Kathy is the queen of quilting!

Loveeee the loose wavy pattern
